True Prophets Must Be Intercessors

This morning I brought a message titled “True Prophets Must Be Intercessors” at Shiloh, Kalona, Iowa.

The greatest expression of our prophetic ministry will be our intercession that turns loose the grace and mercy of God throughout the earth. The greatest success of our prophecies will be the outpouring of God’s love on all people.

Like Moses, we must have this cry in our heart: I’m willing to put myself between You and these people and I want You to change Your mind (Exodus 32:30-32). Samuel said, “Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you” (I Samuel 12:23). In truth, our failure to be intercessors is a greater sin than the sins of those we pray for.

Cry out to God that the heart of intercession and mercy fills each one of us. If we are going to be a prophetic community, let us first and foremost be prophets of mercy.
