Synchronize With God

For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. (Hebrews 4:1-2)

The original Greek for united in this Scripture is closely related to the word synchronize. This really struck me as a great way to think about the Word of God, because in our modern world we are always synchronizing things, such as our phones with our computers.

What is so great about this concept is that when you synchronize something, you take what exists on both of those instruments and bring them together into one. When God speaks a Word, He is looking to synchronize Himself into us.

That is the act of uniting the Word with faith.

In the process of synchronization, we become a perfect blend of everything we are with everything in the Word of God. If you think about it, this is exactly what Jesus was. He was a synchronization of the human with the divine. He was the Word made flesh (John 1:14). And Christ is the firstborn of many brethren (Romans 8:29), so what He became is what we are becoming!

It’s time to synchronize with God.
